For some strange reason, I am feeling excessively mopey this morning. Oh, please don’t raise your eyebrows. It has nothing to do with PMS! Yes, the kids have their FAs or unit tests in simpler tongue. And, as usual my hair is on the brink of going completely white. Making my younger son revise in between yawns is so distracting. Besides, he is so fidgety. Is this a trait with all kids? He sits in funny shapes sometimes coming down in a crash as the chair topples over. Then he finds an annoying toy to fiddle with. It is so distracting. Sometimes, I ask him to fold his hands and sit. But he does so only for a couple of minutes. Then his spelling makes me want to kill myself. It is torture, God, sheer torture that my little son is murdering all the languages I love so much. You sure have a weird sense of humour!
Then this #BudgetAir fiasco is driving me up the wall. I will be doing a full-fledged post on how the refund is not going at all in the way we were promised it would. Those who follow me on twitter (@rachnaparmar) already know what a drag this issue is both emotionally and financially. Thank you all for your support and RTs though. They give me the motivation to keep up the fight.
Then there is this cute little girl who has found friends in my kids and Coco. A few days back I was running an errand and had taken Coco in the car. He sits in the boot and elicits admiring smiles from strangers. I am used to it. As I entered my gated community, I saw a little girl on bike. As soon as I had parked my car, this girl materialized from behind. She must have cycled frantically. Well, she loves dogs, has one herself and thus followed my car. I invited her in where she played with Coco for sometime. Then promised to come back in the evening. Since then the little charmer comes home every day. Such a delight she is. We all love her company and Coco gives her a very welcoming lick climbing all over her every time she visits. 🙂
In other news, I have a minor knee sprain in my right knee. Now, many years ago, I had a terrible knee sprain in the same knee. It took months to go and I had excruciating pain back then. Just the memory of that sprain makes me wince. Hence, I am walking on eggshells this time. I went ahead and got a heavy-duty knee support that I wear when I go for my walks. Before you protest, walks are fine. I just don’t have to overdo things. Hoping that this time around, I completely get better faster.
I end this post with this fun anecdote:
The younger brat was telling me the other day that he wonders why his teachers use this funny phrase?
I asked, “Hmmm?”
He said, “Whenever the kids in the class are creating a racket, the teacher walks and thunders: Is this a class or a fish market?”
He said, “But the fish market is so quiet. “ (We buy our fish at the superstore.)
He said, “I feel like telling her but then I keep quiet. She may get mad!”
I guess the teachers need to work on updating their admonitory phrases now. 🙂
Have a good week, folks!
