Thank you Agnes! Ticks are really horrible :(.

I remember how I and father used to fuss around our favourite pet dog way back in 80’s when Tinku had a fierce attack of ticks. May God bless Coco!

Thank you Umashankar! Dogs are so sweet and loving; it is difficult to see them go through the agony. Poor guy, he does not understand why he is being isolated this way :(.

Rachna,This is really a big menace, specially in dogs with long coat. Not only injection but there are tick powders too which are useful. Do ask vet and use it as advised. Ticks need to be either burnt or drowned in Dettol treated water. Also be very cautious about tick fever as that is very dangerous. Hope Coco recovers soon and gets back to normal life full of love. They are just like family members. Our dog has to sleep on our bed. As soon as light is switched off, she jumps onto the bed and snuggles at my feet. Take care

Yes, I am trying everything — tick shampoos, creams, powder, medicine everything. Thanks for the tips. They are absolutely family members. Thanks for your wishes.

Is there no regular preventive medicines for these?

I had put the preventive medicine and yet he picked up the ticks from the grass :(.

It is really sad, but what to do. I pray for him to become well very soon.

awww…get rid of those ticks, coco.:((((((( Argh…ticks can be such a nuisance, Rachna. I understand. At one point I had five of dogs in my house. Avoid taking him to the lawn…because, that’s the place where ticks breed.Give him a nice pat from my side<3 All the best, coco..

Yes, we tried not taking him to our lawn. That did not seem to work either. We are going to get some pesticides to spray there. Thanks for your love to Coco!

Thank you Pattu! And, this guy is the opposite; he digs a car ride. Sometimes if he sees an open car door, he is willing to get inside irrespective of whose car it is :).

Yeah, it is so sad. He is afflicted with mosquito bites though he is coping much better now. We are going crazy trying to sanitize the house.

So sorry to hear about this, Rachna. Have you taken up the matter with the present place you board him with? I’m not sure where you stay in Bangalore, but you need to look at another place to board him too. I’ve heard of a super place near the old airport – want me to find out more?

Thanks Corinne! I have a couple of dog boarders that are pretty reliable. This lady that I left him with boards them in her house and is very loving. In all probability, he picked up these ticks from the tall grass in our lawn :(. That is what the vet says. Thanks for your offer, but at the moment I am just going crazy trying to sanitize the house. It is so draining — physically and mentally. And, I feel so sorry for Cooc. Thanks for your concern dear.

Okay – I was furious on your behalf (and Coco’s of course!)with the boarders ;). I can understand how tiring is must be. I’ve been thinking of Coco all day, poor baby!

Oh can empathise. Ticks have to be tackled on a war footing. That is another downside of leaving pets at the boarders. There are anti tick shampoos also available.Heres wishing a quick comeback to normalcy!

Oh..poor Coco. Try tick shampoos n powders. Comb and powder daily, that might help. Avoid leaving him at boarders often. My pet Ronnie too is recovering from a tick infection now, in isolation:(

It is sad to see your pet suffer, when he can’t even say what is bothering him. Reminds me of the time I had held our Joey on my lap as he lay listless with a running tummy. Here is wishing Coco a speedy recovery and respite from debugging for you 🙂

Yes, it is difficult to see him suffer. It is more difficult because we can’t tell him why we are doing certain things. First, he suffers the crawlies and then his interaction with the family is reduced too :(. Thank you for all the wishes.
