The biggest one is meeting up friends and their families.  I met this really close friend at a coffee shop, and really, really nice of Gurdev to be tolerant and to look after the kids. We had to leave when the kids started crying, we were so caught up in chatting :). Old friends are so good for the soul, just a talk with them is sure to energize.

Other high points were :

A pic of our family outside Mahesh Lunch Home

A great lunch at Mahesh Lunch Home — yummy food and met an old batchmate of G’s whose family was the reason why Pune has such fond memories for us! Then, we went to Gateway of India, which will always be special because G and I spent our first meeting walking on Marine Drive and going to Gateway.

Spending New Year’s Eve with dad and bro chatting and having pizza and wine — Priceless!

Mumbai cabbies — honest, chatty, cheap and very decent. Really miss them here in Bangalore.

Homemade besan laddoos — yummy.

Back in Bangalore now with a song in the heart :). Here’s wishing all my wonderful friends a beautiful and peaceful New Year.

The greyish one is Mukesh Ambani’s new pad

P.S. We also saw the vulgar home of Mukesh Ambani. The building looks awkward and even more ugly up close. They definitely have the millions but no aesthetic sense or social responsibility.

Looking very cute and happy, welcome back to Namma Bengaluru. Yes Mumbai is good except for the weather and the tiny barely enough flats. It is a foodies world. Bangalore despite the deteriorating (hope the spelling is right) weather, has pampered us to like no place else in the world. The weather seems to be still much better than other places. I wonder how long it would last.

@bbsearchingself Yep, you must try. It is Mangalorean style, which is close to Konkani, right? If you love seafood, you would love it. I especially liked the sol kadi, gassi, the fluffy neer dosas, and the bangda fry. Yummy, makes my mouth water just thinking about it :).@rama Thank you! Feels great to be back in Bangalore. Home is precious, always. Missed the Bangalore weather — which is deteriorating as you right said and spelled :). The traffic and distances are bad at both places. Love the sea in Mumbai and my spacious home here in Bangalore :).

When I first landed in Bombay, I thought the place was not for me, but in a month’s time, I became an integral part of it. I still miss those wonderful days…the train journeys, the search for an apartment to rent / buy, the fast-paced life, the opportunity at work…hmmmmm I miss them! Glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation with family and good old friends 🙂 Mukesh Ambani house – wonder what he was thinking!Wishing you and your family a wonderful year ahead!

@Suffix Thanks and wish you the same!@Aathira Wish you the same. Yes, Bombay is special and crowded and congested too. But, then most cities in India are :).@RGB I did my schooling, college and MBA from B’bay. So I have loads of fond memories and friends there. You are right, the city really grows on you. It has an energy unlike any other city. Wish you a very happy new year too.
