It is sad that the country which had given the Taj Mahal to the world is failing so badly to deliver a few measely stadia.

No punishment can bring back that pride which is lost with these continuous incidents happening in CWG scam. Mr. Fennel is looking for an appointment with PMO who himself is a big fish of this pond. God also can’t save it now. But it will be a good case study in all management and engineering projects 🙂

Without doubt! Shame, is what it is! And all of them involved, find it funny. Mr. Randhir Singh looks like he is stifling his laughter when he makes that comment!

@GP The people behind the venture have failed us.@manika No punishment is enough, but at least a stern punishment would set an example for future faux pas.@Ramesh They have to pay. I hope all of us can force them to pay. And PM cannot be allowed to get away. He has been in deep slumber despite seeing the problems coming.@Destiny’s Child It is all so disgusting. I don’t know how we function as a country with so much corruption and a lackadaisical attitude.

Thanks for your lovely comment. All politicians are shameless and nothing can be done about it. But we cannot behave same like those politicians who are good for nothing and always keep on telling big things and makes false promises. Very nice post.

Indian pride is being dragged through the mud by these corrupt politicians! Our Lokayukta visited our col a few days back & said last year itself 55,000 crores meant for development & for the poor was missing!!How much money do these basterds need to feel happy!!CWG could be an eye opener for future projects!!Hope it really sucks!!

It’s unbelievable how they brush off a fallen foot-over-bridge and questions of hygiene and many such goof-ups with such a callous attitude, makes you think if you’ve gotten it all wrong. And at what expense? 70K crores of our hard earned money and our country’s reputation!

@Girish Lokayukta is the only guy fighting a lone battle against these corrupt men. In Bangalore itself, every single Corporator, politician is corrupt. Really, I also wonder how greedy these men are? Are there no boundaries to their greed. Can’t our generation do something about corruption? Can we stand up for our poor and weak?@RGB hey thanks for your visit and comment. You are so right! They make corruption and low morals seem like the acceptable way to go. Sometimes, one wonders whether one is sane. I think we need a revolution of some sort. This problem is not going away anytime soon.

I am sorry for all these mis-happenings surrounding the CWG and it’s affects on your country-people. I have some Indian friends at work- who were very very upset last Friday about this whole thing and it is indeed very upsetting.

PM? did u say PM? i heard there is someone like that who was busy sleeping..he has a good image..better he should leave with that..what use of a sleeping genius?

@Ramesh Yes, PM! I think he is equally responsible in all this mess. He is seeing this coming since so many months. He is turning a blind eye to their corrupt practices. He is sitting as a silent bystander when the prices go beyond a common man’s reach. And, he sleeps when Kashmir burns. I am really disappointed in him and his Government. And, the sad part is that I see no hope in any other politician too.

though i loathe kalmadi, i would like to point out that there are others to blame (IE Edit – We have won Gold).More Indians have access to mobiles than toilets. Yet we don’t find it offensive.so much media time has been spent on toilets for visitors, yet not a single second for the toilets of 40000 CWG workers. (TOI blog brown man’s burden an exception)I agree with your post, but i wish media cared about Indians too.

The after of the of the comments is funnier. The CWG committee says it is satisfied one day and unsatisfied the other. Is there a magic wand in Delhi that can put things right overnight? Am abolutely at a loss to understand how incidents are shaping up.

its 400000 not 40000 cwg workers.came back to mention the beautiful header pic. takes away the breath.i think what amazes us is the audacity of corruption. people thinking they can get away with us. maybe they have underestimated the power of media.the media might sleep many times and the citizens. but with cwg corruption and incompetence, its different. the media has choosen to wake up.but then who remembers the details of IPL?

@wise donkey I agree with your point that unless pointed out by others, we don’t think anything bad of the terrible conditions that most Indians live in. We all are culprits here. Why blame only the politicians? How can we let them get away with scandal after scandal? Thanks about the header pic. And, yes media can bring them to their knees. But, these days they take something really trivial to distract themselves. I wish they could take CWG games mess to its logical end.@The Holy Lama You are right. It is mindboggling, how inane these incidents and quotes are. It takes time to sink in.

The corruption during the last election was an estimated 25000 crores.Political parties spent 8000 crores on it. Where do you think they raise such money from? See,they don’t do a thing without hidden agendas. Now this CWG would meet their needs for a decade or so.Every leading politician or his family member would have some kind of contract related to this. There is nothing less than crores being pocketed.Didn’t you know they have no shame? Who has it, for that matter?

@dr. antony Yes, I know that they are all hand in glove. But, don’t you think that since this is our money that they are pocketing, we have a right to force them to deal with this blatant looting.
