Recently this case has been hogging all headlines in Bangalore
The lady, it turned out was brutally murdered by her husband. And, apparently he had been planning it for many months. This was a well-educated couple, and the husband was an employee of Infosys. It is shocking to the sensibilities of all of us. Though the investigation is not yet complete, there seems to be no reason like domestic violence, abuse or some such thing on the part of the wife for which the husband wanted to kill her.
What is wrong with this man? With one action of his, he has killed his career, brought ignominy to his family and himself, will be jailed for God knows how many years, and will always live with the blood of his wife on his hands. It is okay to have differences, but why can’t educated people handle it the educated way? Seek counseling, and if nothing works, separate or divorce. Who gave him the right to take away another person’s life? And, it was a cold-blooded murder, not even a sudden rash act committed in the heat of the moment.
I really fail to understand the psyche of such people. I thought education and status made us wiser and more able to handle conflicts in a better way. It looks, apparently not, in this case. It saddens me to see such a decline in morals and rationality.

Perhaps, it happens in moments of depression. There are certain human actions which are beyond explanation and logic.I am sure that if the man was in his senses, he would have never committed such an act.VINAASH KALEN VIPRIT BUDDHI

YeahRead it yesterday and the most important part is that how he killed her by luring her for a long awaited and a much talked gift. By tieng her to the chair, blindfolded her and then slit her neck.It looked like a murder scene of some slick Hollywood crime thriller. Isn’t it.But I will not agree to what Chawla sir said that I am sure that if the man was in his senses, he would have never committed such an act. because this murder was well planned for months and well executed.IF there is some issues in the marriage, it should be sorted out calmly.Divorce can be an option for sure Murder is not.Bhupesh

U hrd of a mallu girl murdered months back in bangalore…it was not a planned one butI think the main reason is our system is too fierce and merciless that we are begetting monsters. We will have to thank our TVs too.As rachna said, we rarely hear someone escaping from the police after committing a mourder…then y do we do that??

Psychos..and can’t reason with such. That’s why they don’t have a place in society, its either in the mental asylum or jail. I don’t think law can also try to judge such people since their logic is beyond salvation…And they will plead “not guilty by the reason of mentally insane”. How do we common logical people keep ourselves safe from such psychos..is the question.

well the details i read from toi saysshe refused to take care of his sister and he wanted divorce, 6 months back. when she refused, he planned the murder.and a cold way too. he would give her suprises which involved blindfolding her. earlier he had made a collage of photos and when she had asked about next suprse he had said somethin 2 do with neck and she had assumed diamond necklace.so he simply blindfolded and tied her and then strangled and then slit her throat. poor girl.if he hadn’t acted over smart and tried the cellphone trick of saying he got a call from her while jogging, the police wouldnt have found 2 towers were not involved and he could have got away with it.heart goes out to girls families.i am not sure about the divorce angle. how could she accept the change from i want to divorce u to i will get diamond necklace. he probably wanted to get rid of her and thought killing was easier.domestic violence exists in all classes so this is just an extension of it.

@BK Chowla The fact that he planned the murder and executed it in a cold-blooded manner makes me sick. Like a goat to be sacrificed, he slit her neck when she expected a necklace around her neck. He is a monster though sadly she had no inkling.@Bhupesh Totally agree, Bhupesh. Murder can never be an option. And, he was so cold-blooded about it. He shared a life with this lady; how could he kill her this way?@Jon He tried to cover up his tracks. Only he did not know how much technology has progressed, and he left too many loopholes to escape. But, he did plan an escape, so he is certainly not mad.

@Gayatri Psychos who look and act like normal people. Really scary. Feel very sad for the 29-year-old lady who had no idea what was about to hit her.@Rohini Surely, he will be punished.@wise donkey I don’t buy the divorce angle either. You can’t jump from divorce to going overboard with gestures demonstrating love. And, what frivolous reasons he has cited — not looked after his sister, did not get along with parents, was unable to conceive, had asthma, arthritis… All crap! You cannot kill a person for this. She did not threaten his life, and he was really determined she would have given him divorce. Apparently, she was higher educated than him and was working too. I don’t see why she would hang on to a man like this. It is difficult to understand the actions of such abnormal people. All his actions were suspicious. And, he should have known that he would always be the prime suspect in the murder. This must be one of the easiest cases for the police to crack as he made so many mistakes. From the human tragedy angle, it is really tragic.I really feel sorry for her parents and also for her who had her entire life ahead of her. As a woman and a wife, I totally empathize with her.

He slit her throat after blindfolding her!!! Scary! She was expecting diamonds and he gave her a blood diamonds!! Seems like a scene straight out of the Hollywood ‘Saw’ series.Educated or uneducated, it doesn’t really matter when the person has no sense of dignity and respect.By what I have seen in tv, he was in his senses and had planned a getaway.People like him should be given death sentences for performing such atrocious crimes. We can keep ourselves safer by not trusting anybody too much. And learning yoga & martial arts helps.

Surely murder is not the solution but our law is also responsible for this as it has given many rights to women. Just one complaint under dowry cell or section 498 can make the life of the man hell. But man can’t complaint against any crime. Even murder cases go for years and criminal gets bailed out. I’m sure these stories prompt these incidents. Priyanka’s case happened just 2 kms away from our house and teacher is also known by many of the students in the layout therefore it was quite close to us. I too was shocked and could not sleep for two nights. But non-ventilation of feelings is the major cause of these incidents.

the problem is women are conditioned to accept whatever garbage of humanity they marry.poor girl, when i think of the betrayal she must have felt when she must have realised he strangled her, my heart breaks.i am happy he iscaught. hopefully that will discourage some creeps out there who think they lives can be easily disposed.but i really wish she hadn’t died.

You are absolutely right Rachnaji. And a very apt post. I myself had asked this question many times. Why can’t educated people handle such issues in an educated way? I echo Mr.B.K. Chowla:”VINAASH KALEN VIPRIT BUDDHI”

@Girish Yes Girish, the strictest of punishments should be doled out to such people. Since he plotted and planned, he deserves this. But, I feel that he must be made to struggle in the jail to suffer. Thanks for visiting my blog.@manika Non-ventilation of emotions, surely is dangerous. But civilized people don’t kill others. Just cannot understand his motive at doing this.@chandrika Yes, he should have approached his problems differently.@Readers Dias You are right! Yet education is meant to make you more logical and give you a greater perspective.@wise donkey Yes, women are conditioned to tolerate much more in the Indian setup. Yet, I don’t think she saw what was coming. It is really sad when someone close to you betrays you.@Anulal Yes, I agree.@Haddock I wonder what money she possessed that he needed to kill her to get his hands on it.

    Resp Madam,
Most of educated Officers wear grim face on regular basis ( even after duty hours) as to signify their Status of position and never openly pent out their anger in any other activities such as jogging, mediation or daily writing journals and fail to establish friendship with their life partner.
Over the period, mind occupies unwanted thoughts making them Psychos. General happens when person constantly spend more time looking at monitor ( during office work) or in leisure time instead of going for tracking or jogging, prefer sit in front of large TV with loud music, so all habits against stability of mind.
